Charleston Practice

Practice the required right-across-left passes, the optional second Charleston, blind-pass moments, and the final courtesy pass without using annual-card-specific examples.

Charleston advice must stay general: pass three non-joker tiles, protect useful structure, use blind passing only on the final pass of each Charleston, and avoid revealing annual-card-specific targets.

Practice Ideas

  • Choose three pass candidates and label each as unsupported, flexible, or risky.
  • After each pass, describe how the rack direction changed.
  • Practice a courtesy pass by agreeing on 0-3 tiles with the opposite player and exchanging only the smaller requested count.
